A baptism or christening style of ceremony as a non-religious alternative. The purpose being to recognise the arrival of a child, to welcome him or her in the family, and into your circle of friends.
Like the more traditional naming ceremonies, a formal ceremony is led by your celebrant in which the parents ask for the support of guardians or godparents.
